The worst job Ive ever had
waitress (Former Employee) –  Durban10 October 2018
I seriously hate that place with all I have. So basically if you dont bring money to the company aka customer, you are literally slave driven sometimes to breaking point. There isnt a day in your working life where you dont cry or get upset. Remember : your views are not important as an employee

It was not that productive
Hostess (Former Employee) –  Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal13 August 2018
Wirking there taught me the patience, hope and love. It also taught me the punctuality. Management was not that good
Workplace was fun
Hardest part of the job was when the customers wants the table but it is reserved so you have to tell them that you are fully booked
Enjoyable part of the job was preparing for the day before customers arrive

Very Chaotic Environment
Head Chef (Former Employee) –  Waterfall Midrand5 June 2018
The Owners were very unsure of the vision of their restaurant and to remedy this they had hired a massive management team of people in the front of house and people in the back of house, It was extremely chaotic as things would change on a daily basis without you knowing or being able to keep up.
Pros
Short Working hours because of shifts

five star services.
Runner (Former Employee) –  Cape Town Stadium6 July 2016
just like every five star sushi restaurant, beluga is the most recognized restaurant by the western foreign nationals, every single hour of a days work is much more enjoyable. The management is much more organized and centralized in terms of customer care as well as the staff. The staff is also recognized as the best workmen-ship in the five star sushi bars. As for me, i enjoyed every moment of my time working there, gained quiet an experience on the watering sector, and that i enjoyed serving the clients in an exotic manner.

Waitress (Former Employee) –  Cape Town, Western Cape - GREEN POINT3 April 2013
Interacting with customers, varying from young to old. local and international.

Learnt about various types of wines, whiskey, champagne. Production of local and international beverages. Pairing certain food with certain beverages to achieve a harmonious balance. Gained confidence in communication and presentation skills. Learnt how to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure. learnt how to handle customer complaints and how to make sure that the customer's needs are met. Learnt about time management.

Management made sure that duties were performed. Handled customer complaints. Remeddied errors such as wrong orders on the computer etc. Managers communicated with staff on what was running low in stock. Assisted with the smooth running of the restaurant.

CO-workers assitsted by taking orders while other colleague is busy with other guests. Carry food to other tables, setup tables.

Long hours. relying on tips as means of payment. sometimes dealing with difficult customers.

Learning and tasting different foods and beverages. Visiting local wine farms. getting visits from the farms representatives to talk about their products. Getting instant gratification in the form of tips.
