A hard business if you are used to a salary

I enjoyed it while it lasted, but working for commission is not always fun and to have to rely on sales staff can be nerve wrecking.

I had great fun at old mutual we used to have team building exercuses every month.

We had club 51 were I was chosen as the vice president of the club it was formed to make sure that sales are achieved and it was an honour to belong to this club as a representative .

Old mutual trained us in all aspects of management they were very good in that.

This is where I learned Insurance.

in a sales environment managing sales team is the hardest, issues like fraud, compliance make life difficult.
When you have a productive team and make your targets is the most enjoyable part of the job.

Productive, exciting, challenging work space

Emails take a lot of my time, but they are an effective way of communication. As a sales manager I look after a team of 11, looking to increase it to 17. I also do financial planning for clients in the higher income / net worth space. We have a good management team and our co-workers are multi-cultural and very pleasant. The hardest part of my job is time management and prioritising my work. The most enjoyable part of my job is interacting with clients and my team and applying my knowledge to financial planning.

Tyoical day:- Stream of demanding advisors that needs info, co-attend one or two advisors, do some admin work:- working out training programmes, do reviews with advisors, arrange career presentations, see new prospective advisors.
