My morning requires communicating with the CSR who captures orders, CFS who manages accounts that have been flagged, and then to follow up on emails. The balance of the day customer visits. At the end on my day to update forecasts, account plans, update CRM tools with visit reports. The position is very exciting, I am responsibile for the RO & UF business for SSA. Identifying potential growth opportunities, piloting working with cusotmers in various water treatment applications ranging from mining, food, municiple, industrial and managing a distributor for the residenital market. Travelling into Africa is intersting. I have gained alot of experience and made many business contacts, SSA especially in Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana as well as Angola. I would say that 80% of my time is out at customers following up on projects, pilots, tenders and orders. I have travelled extensively into Europe, Spain, Germany Switzerland to our R&D site. I have had extensive product training, water treatment solution training etc. I have had Commercial Training in Switzerland where my Six Sigma Master Black Belt sponsor is based. The hardest part of my job, was dealing with a manager based in UAE, Dubai. The cutural differences as well as lack of communication is an issues. The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting people from different parts of the world, learning their story and identifying with their needs. particularly in Africa, people have this deep set need to improve their quality of life be it education, or simply their day to day lifestyle. This I learned while travelling abroad, intorducingmore... people to water treatment, a basic human need.less
